The two sides teamed up last week to form Diana Wilhelmsen Management, which will manage only Diana vessels to start but has eyes on a wider client base.

Haakon Lenz, vice president of WSM Europe and the Americas, believes the venture will be able to pull in outside clients despite the involvement of such a prominent Greek owner.

In an email response to TradeWinds, he said: “This joint venture will provide an expanded capability to provide high quality management services to vessels in Diana’s fleet, while creating an opportunity to further enhance shareholder value through increased revenues by eventually providing management services to unaffiliated third party vessel operators.
