Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei Fohr Amrum (WDR) has returned to Neptun Werft for a double-ended ferry as it looks to renew its fleet.
The German company will take delivery of the new ship in spring 2018, when the 2,268-gt Rungholt (built 1992) will be offered for sale.
TradeWinds understands the new vessel will cost around EUR 20m ($21.8m).
The newbuilding will operate in the Wadden sea between the mainland port of Dagebull and the islands of Fohr and Amrum.
