What was your earliest memory?
I was born in the small island of Dominica in the 1950s, the third of 11 children. My earliest memories are of our family, community life, the colours of the landscape and weather and the simple fact of living on an island: the rains, the sun, fruits, lush vegetation and mountains.
Did you go through training/university or straight into work?
I spent a lot of time at universities.
