A firm spun off from Maersk Group says it will fight a US Coast Guard (USCG) decision on how to test the efficacy of ballast water treatment systems (BWTS).
Denmark-based Desmi Ocean Guard said it will appeal the December decision that a test method, called “most probable number,” did not measure the effectiveness of its BWTS to “the performance standard required by the regulations.”
