In a brief Bombay Stock Exchange announcement, GE Shipping informed its investors that it will take delivery of a Japanese-built VLGC in the next three months, without revealing a price.
TradeWinds, however, understands from sale-and-purchase (S&P) brokers that GE Shipping has paid around $37m.
It is the second VLGC bought by the company since July 2013, when it acquired the 75,000-cbm Jag Vishnu (ex-JA Sunshine, built 1994) from Japan’s Kumiai Navigation for $26m.
