Finnish group Wartsila is to supply engines for CalMac’s new dual-fuel ferries in Scotland.
The company said the 102-metre ro-ro units will feature two six-cylinder Wartsila 34DF main engines capable of operating on either LNG or conventional diesel fuels, plus two six-cylinder Wartsila 20DF auxiliary engines.
It will also provide horizontally offset gearboxes, shaft lines, seals and bearings, and controllable pitch propeller systems (CPP).
