Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co (KSOE) said it has secured orders for two ropax ferries, six feeder containerships and two VLGC newbuildings worth a total of KRW 853bn ($752m).

The Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings unit, which controls shipyards within the group, said New Zealand’s KiwiRail had signed up for two 53,000-gt ropax newbuildings.

KiwiRail revealed that it is paying $369m for the vessels.
