Zim has deployed the 11,000-teu Cape Sounio (built 2017) on a service from Asia to the East Coast of South America in response “to growing market needs”, the carrier has said. It is the largest vessel employed by the Israeli carrier on the trade in a move that reflects its nascent recovery.

Zim, which started taking slots on a service between Asia and the South American East Coast in January, is providing the largest of 14 containerships to be operated together with five other carriers.
