State-owned Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) has continued its winning streak with another capesize newbuilding deal.

Industry sources say Japanese shipowner Santoku Senpaku has contracted the Shanghai-based shipyard to build two wide-beam 186,000-dwt bulkers for delivery in 2019.

They add the contract was signed two months ago but was not reported. The price-tag for the Tier III compliant ships is thought to be in excess of $45m each.
