Tsuneishi Shipbuilding has named Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding as one of its subsidiary companies after extending its shareholding to more than 50%.

In October last year, Kambara family-controlled Tsuneishi initially acquired 49% of Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding from its parent company Mitsui E&S Holdings.

The share acquisition was part of a commercial and technical cooperation pact.

Both companies this week announced that Tsuneishi has now acquired a further 17% of shares in Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding.
