Feedership owner Elbdeich Reederei has lifted its container ship newbuilding order tally to six vessels after securing a series of long-term charters with two liner newcomers.

The German owner has inked orders in China for two more 1,400-teu vessels and is considering further orders, managing director Peter Frese confirmed.

The contracts come on top of four vessels that were ordered speculatively last year at Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry.
