A suezmax tanker at the centre of a US investigation into Venezuelan oil smuggling has been detained at the Greek port of Kali Limenes, port-state control data shows.
The US claimed to have dismantled a sophisticated smuggling network in October when it announced criminal charges against five Russians and two oil traders. The suspects were linked to so-called ‘dark trades’ of sanctioned oil using a Vietnamese-owned tanker.
