A shortage of slots for modern VLGCs to sail through the Panama Canal is seeing a resurrection in demand for the more traditional sized vessels, Avance Gas says.
The trend is best illustrated by trader Vitol inserting an option in its debut VLGC order at Hyundai Heavy Industries that would allow the 84,000-cbm ships to be adjusted to vessels of around 74,000-cbm.
