The International Maritime Organization's push to lower emissions by 2020 may cause vessels to slow down as many shipowners opt for a pricier fuel instead of installing exhaust scrubbers, JP Morgan analysts say.
"The easiest way to comply with the regulations will be to simply burn fuel with low sulphur content," Noah Parquette and Phil Gresh said in a note to clients.
