South Korea’s major shipbuilders are set for an order surge in the second quarter of 2018, according to Japanese investment bank Nomura.

“We continue to believe Korean shipbuilders’ March-April new order momentum will be strong,” says shipbuilding analyst Jaehyung Choi.

“The yards are in negoations for around 15 LNG carriers, while CMA CGM will place an order for 12 14,000-teu.”
