Two Greek shipping companies have scrapped 22-year-old tankers this week, feeding a steady flow of wet tonnage for demolition.

George Procopiou-led Dynacom Tankers Management is sending the 148,000-dwt Shanghai (built 1996) for scrap, sources said, suggesting a price of about $10m.

Dynacom bought the tanker as Hellespont Trinity for $11.6m in November 2012 from Hellespont Shipping.

A Dynacom executive could not be reached for comment due to the Greek Easter holidays.
