Chinese shipowner Sinotrans has concluded a two-year deal for a capesize bulker, which means the ship is set to earn almost 30% more than it did over the past year.

European shipbrokers said mining giant Rio Tinto has chartered the 180,000-dwt Great Zhou (built 2010) at $18,500 per day, which means revenue of more than $13m for the period.

The charter is due to start next month.
