New York-listed Costamare is rumoured to have won a share of a newbuilding project being developed by Yang Ming Marine Transport.
Shipbrokers are speculating Costamare and Japan’s Shoei Kisen have secured an even split of 10 boxships of 12,000-teu.
As TradeWinds has reported, Yang Ming has been seeking up to 14 neo-panamax containership newbuildings with long-term charter partners.
Market sources believe the Costamare vessels will be built at and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, with the Shoei Kisen ships inked in at compatriot Imabari.
