Oslo finance house Pareto has set up a Norwegian KS (limited partnership) company that has bought a 10-year-old German-controlled product tanker in partnership with the Schoeller group.

The shipowner has purchased the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard-built, 37,000-dwt Conti Guinea (built 2008) for $12.5m.

Pareto director Cato Helstenius confirmed the deal and said the Schoeller group would be the managing owner.

A number of sources had cited Atlantica Shipping in Oslo as the managing owner, but its director Johan Werner insisted that was not the case.
