New sulphur laws due to enter force in 2020 will prove a greater disruption to shipping than the arrival of OPA 90, which drove the widespread introduction of double-hull tankers, BTIG says.

Analyst Greg Lewis explains the law which goes live in January 2020 will lead to dislocations across the marine transport and refinery sectors.

In a report Lewis reasoned disruption is good for shipping, which could see its fuel bill climb by $30bn at present bunker price spreads.
