Ship-to-ship (STS) transfers of Yamal LNG cargoes from the project’s specialised Arc7 fleet are scheduled to begin off northern Norway this month.
Industry sources have revealed that transshipments from the ice-breaking vessels to conventional LNG tonnage will take place off Honningsvag, near Kirkenes, in the last two weeks of November.
TradeWinds understands that the three sets of STS equipment ordered for these transfers will be held onshore, as scheduling of Arc7 shipments from the project would make it difficult to assign kit to specific vessels.
