Three Greek companies are believed to have acquired panamax and kamsarmax tonnage built between 10 and 12 years ago, in a trio of deals that highlight a growing Hellenic interest in such ships.

Greek shipbrokers identified Athens-based SwissMarine Inc as the buyer of the 76,500-dwt Dolce (built 2007). The Imabari Shipbuilding-constructed ship reportedly fetched $11.5m.

A senior executive at SwissMarine confirmed the company was in the process of acquiring the Dolce but declined to discuss the price at which the vessel is changing hands.
