The European Union has extended Cyprus' tonnage tax regime for 10 more years.
Estonia also has been granted permission to introduce a tonnage tax scheme, which will see shipping companies apply to pay tax based on a notional profit or the amount of tonnage they operate, instead of being subject to the normal corporate tax system.
The schemes apply to ship ownership, ship management and chartering activities.
