German shipowner Danz & Tietjens has acquired its largest containership.
It took over the 5,527-teu Allegoria (built 2006) in a deal worth about $15m, according to market sources.
The ship is said to have been acquired on the back of a three-year charter to liner operator Hapag-Lloyd at about $17,000 per day.
It is understood that it will continue to be commercially operated from Germany by Blue Net Chartering.
