Nestled in the proposed Democratic Party platform is an indication that US sanctions aggression could come to an end.

A draft copy of the party's goals around November's election suggested that should former vice president Joe Biden win, the party would change significantly the country's Iran policy and said the overuse of sanctions hurts US foreign policy goals.

"When used strategically — as one of the tools employed, alongside our allies, to achieve clear policy objective — financial and economic sanctions are an effective way to advance many core US national security objectives," the document, obtained by Politico, read.
