Engine designer MAN Energy Solutions has unveiled its new low-pressure two-stroke engine as market competition hots up between rivals.
MAN Energy Solutions head of two-stroke sales and promotion Thomas Hansen said demand from customers for a low-pressure engine had been the driver for what MAN has dubbed the ME-GA.
He stressed that ME-GA is simply an addition to MAN’s engine portfolio and does not mark a switch away from its high-pressure ME-GI engine, which is already widely in service, to low pressure units.
