Yangzijiang Shipbuilding is set to haul in newbuilding orders worth $2.5bn this year, several Singapore analysts have predicted.

Last week, the Singapore-listed shipbuilder said it had secured contracts for 29 newbuildings worth a total of $1.3bn.

“Yangzijiang had already outperformed our expectations with $1.8bn worth of new orders in 2020, despite it being a tough year given the Covid-19 pandemic,” UOB Kay Hian shipbuilding analyst Adrian Loh said.
