The European Commission has approved Denmark's move to include offshore support vessels (OSVs) in its tonnage tax regime.
Denmark notified the Commission in 2016 of its plans to extend the scheme to cover guard vessels, offshore support ships, wind farm installation and maintenance vessels, cable-layers, icebreakers and accommodation units.
Their owners will now pay tax on the ships' tonnage, not profit.
