First quarter cargo growth has been better than expected at the port of Rotterdam.

The Dutch port authority said volumes were up 3% at 110m tonnes in the three months to 31 March.



Agribulk, iron ore and scrap and other dry bulk cargoes all fell between 14% and 19% year-on-year, but coal volumes increased 15%, crude was up 6%, clean oil products 13% and containers 1%.
