Shipping regulators from around the world are gathering at the IMO in London this week in a bid to develop mandatory measures to shrink shipping’s carbon footprint.
The IMO has set a target of a 40% reduction in shipping’s carbon intensity per tonne of cargo transported by 2030.
The two proposals that have gathered the most support come from Japan and Denmark.
