Italian classification society RINA has acquired software company Logimatic Solutions in a move that it said will expand its marine digital services and capability.

RINA did not disclose how much it is paying for the Danish company, which has an annual turnover of €6m ($7m), and employs 50 people.

Logimatic is best known in the marine industry for its ship management software Sertica, which is used by shipping companies such as Euronav, DFDS, UltraShip and Lauritzen Kosan, according to the company's website.
