Danish ferry operator Mols-Linien has won a compensation battle against insurer Tryg Forsikring.

It will pocket DKK 19.2m ($3.3m) plus costs after a court ruled in its favour over a 2010 claim.

Mols said that on 16 July of that year, its 5,600-gt fast ferry Max Mols (built 1998) was involved in an accident.

Tryg had rejected a claim for cover.

The ferry owner had included the amount in both its 2010 and 2011 annual reports as a contingent asset.
