A suicide note sparked a massive search for a depressed Israeli passenger who remains missing from a cruiseship in the Mediterranean.
The 26-year-old man is believed to have gone overboard the 800-passenger Mirage 1 (built 1973) early on Monday morning.
A large-scale search began when the man’s father informed Israeli police that he had found a suicide note. Crew of the Bahamas-flagged ship were notified and a distress signal was sent to the Cypriot Defense Ministry as the vessel was en route from Haifa to Limassol.
