India’s Great Eastern Shipping has emerged as the buyer of a modern Japanese-owned capsize bulker, shipbrokers report.
The Bombay-listed shipowner is said to have acquired Libera Corp’s 179,250-dwt Cape Althea (built 2011) for $24.5m
Arctic Securities analyst Erik Nikolai Stavseth said the price level indicates a firming in values for the dry bulk sector.
“Our latest assessment of a five year-old capesize is $22.9m
