Brazilian shipbuilder Estaleiro Atlantico Sul (EAS) has filed for bankruptcy protection after being without work for the last nine months.

The yard, owned by conglomerates Camargo Correa and Queiroz Galvao, delivered two 114,000-dwt tankers to domestic oil major Petrobras in 2019, the last in June.
