UK cement company Hanson is investing EUR 70m ($74.74m) in two new 3,000-cbm trailing suction hopper dredgers.
They will be the first new aggregate dredgers to be commissioned by Hanson in the UK for more than 25 years.
Delivery is set for 2019 from Dutch shipbuilder Barkmeijer in Stroobos.
They will be equivalent in size to Hanson’s existing A-Class vessels, carrying up to 5,500 tonnes of sand and gravel.
