Nordic American Tankers has posted a wider loss for the first quarter but its red ink was not as deep as Wall Street had feared.
The US-listed company posted net loss of $18.7m versus net loss of $3.4m for the year-ago period.
Its loss per share of $0.13 beat the Wall Street consensus for a loss of $0.20 loss per share.
