Dong-A Tanker has inked a $21.2m three-year charter deal on a newbuilding suezmax tanker.
The South Korean shipowner has fixed out its 157,000-dwt Dong-A Spica (built 2017) to Repsol for $19,400 per day, shipbrokers tell TradeWinds.
Under the deal, Dong-A will tie up the newbuilding at a rate that hovers close to today's spot market.
Howe Robinson reports suezmax tankers are on average currently fetching about $19,800 a day.
