Odfjell LPG ships delayed by a year

Norway’s Odfjell has revealed a delay of nearly a year for the first of its eight new LPG/ethylene carriers on order in China.

In a joint venture with Oakhill Advisors and Breakwater Capital, Odfjell Gas has four 22,000-cbm vessels and four 17,000-cbm carriers on order at China’s Sinopacific Nantong.

According to the latest production schedule from the yard, the first 17,000-cbm ship will join the fleet in September 2016, compared to original expected deliveries from October last year, it said.
