Charterers have begun looking to fix older VLCCs as rates begin peeking up.
Four VLCCs 15 years old and older and another five at least a decade old were fixed in the last two days according to data from Tankers International, which listed 15 total charters so far this week.
Meanwhile, the Baltic Exchange’s time charter equivalent assessment for the ships rose $1,233 to $40,602 per day.
