Expanding Vietnamese tanker owner Prime Shipping Corp has again turned to the secondhand markets to satisfy its tonnage requirements after quietly cancelling orders for a couple of chemical tankers in China.
Prime Shipping has emerged as the buyer of the 12,900-dwt chemical/products tanker Dong-A Pontus (built 2006), which was reported last week as being sold for $10.3m.
Sources close to the company say that the deal was concluded last month, with the ship promptly renamed Prime Sky.
