A record 19 VLCCs loaded Brazilian crude exports in October to take advantage of strong demand from China, according to data from Tankers International.

The increase in the Brazil-China trade has contributed to a surge in tanker tonne-miles with average round trips taking 100 days compared with 60 from the Middle East, said the specialist VLCC pool.

The latest activity represents a large jump from the average monthly tally of 10 VLCC loadings in Brazil from January to August, it said.
