Spain’s Marflet grows with product tankers from Diamond S and Pleiades

Madrid-based Marflet Marine is adding a pair of MR2 product tankers with a view toward expanding and renewing its fleet.

A Marflet manager confirmed to TradeWinds that the low-profile Spanish MR2 specialist has agreed to buy the 50,000-dwt Glafkos (built 2013) and the 51,500-dwt Atlantic Mirage (built 2009).

The Glafkos has been trading with Greece’s Pleiades Shipping Agents, while the Atlantic Mirage comes from the fleet of US-listed Diamond S Shipping.
