Two tanker-market veterans are casting doubt on the potential impact of a tentative Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) agreement that would curb crude output.

Answering a question from the floor at the annual Association of Ship Brokers and Agents (ASBA) conference in Miami Beach, Navig8 commercial director Jason Klopfer said much remains to be seen.

“Any agreement is a negative in that it’s a reduction of supply,” Klopfer said.
