Norway's Viken Shipping has concluded period employment for one of its suezmaxes, with term rates for crude tankers still firm despite a fallbacks in spot earnings.

The Bergen-based shipowner’s 159,000-dwt Dolviken (built 2012) was reportedly fixed by trader Vitol for two years at $23,250 per day.

Viken chairman Hans Olav Lindal confirmed that the tanker has been taken by Vitol on a charter that started earlier this month.
