US-listed DryShips is said to be close to buying the South Korean-controlled, 179,000-dwt bulker Conches (built 2011). Brokers say the Sungdong-built ship is fetching $53.5m, including a time charter running until January next year at $26,000 per day.
NYK Line of Japan is reportedly selling the 91,000-dwt bulker Shinchi Maru (built 1995). The Mitsubishi-built ship, which has been in the company fleet since it was new, is said to have fetched $9.5m.
