In 1945 at the association´s first Christmas dinner after the end of Second World War, brokers were treated to a proper four-course meal followed by coffee and cognac.

As a sign of the times, however, they were required to submit their ration cards for fat and were also asked to contribute coffee.

Such stories can be found in the recently published book "A Century of Shipping, Olso Shipbrokers Association, 1899-1999", which was written by shipping historian Dag Bakka jr.

The OSA asked Bakka to compile the history of the organisation to mark its jubilee in the industry.
