The Jiangsu Eastern-built, 54,000-dwt Alpine Trader and Ermis (both built 2009) are understood to have fetched $20m enbloc. Online platform VesselsValue.com says the ships are worth $22.2m in total. Goldenport had made no announcement on the sale before TradeWinds went to press.
The ships were ordered in 2007 by a 50:50 joint venture between Goldenport and commodity trader Glencore at $64m in total.
