The United Kingdom Freight Demurrage & Defence Club (UK Defence Club) is ramping up a campaign to move away from taximeter billing of legal costs.

The biggest of the legal insurance mutuals aims to flex its commercial muscle to encourage law firms to stop charging by the hour and instead agree to fixed or success-linked remuneration.
