The furry stowaway took the economy-class 3,000-milecrossing from Halifax, Canada, to Liverpool, England, surviving partly bylicking condensation from the inside of the container.

Having also eaten some of the boxes, the raccoon wasdiscovered when the container arrived at a Welsh company, the Daily Mailreports.

Jan Garen, who runs the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuarywith her husband Graham, told the South Wales Evening Post: "We have to keepher as it would cost too much to send her back and the US authorities areunlikely to foot the bill.
